Did you know ?
Capybaras are the largest rodent in the world. They can stay under water for 5 minutes. Sometimes they come to the surface of the water to breathe, hardly visible. Only their eyes, ears and nostrils, situated at the top of their head, are at water level to sense danger better.
The Capybaras that live in Bellewaerde Park are brothers and sisters.
Capybaras do not have toilets, they prefer doing their business directly in the water.
